How to Effectively Use YouTube Tags

In my last post "3 Simple Things to Increase SEO in your YouTube Videos", I explained how a video's tags, title, and description largely effect it's rank in YouTube and Google (thus the higher the search engine rank, the more views, right?)  After mentioning those three main factors, I then went into a little more detail and briefly described each of these factors.  Now I am going to go into a lot more detail on YouTube's TAGS and how to effectively use them.

In case you are unfamiliar or did not get to read my last post, YouTube Tags are a vital part of getting a video noticed and viewed in YouTube.  Without getting video views, a YouTube channel is pretty much worthless.  Without views, you can not gain subscribers, earn revenue, or direct YouTube traffic to other websites/blogs etc.

So what are tags? Tags are keywords or phrases that many sites and search engines (like YouTube) use in order to help determine where to place and show the video.  For example, if your video is about cats, then your tags should have something to do with cats, so that when someone searches your tag/keyword phrase, your YouTube video may not be in the first page, but it will be there somewhere!

So now that you know a little bit about YouTube tags, it is time to get into what really makes a YouTube tag good and great along with some very helpful tips and tricks to keep in mind when entering YouTube tags.
