Customizing Your YouTube Videos

As stated in an earlier post (Customizing Your YouTube Channel), customizing your YouTube Channel is a very important thing if you want to build a strong fan base/Subscribers.  It also helps to increase overall YouTube views and total revenue earned. In the last post, we concluded and explained why customizing your YouTube Channel was a good thing to do, especially for beginners with little to no fan base.

So, now let's put two and two together... The more YouTube channel customization = more YouTube success!  So, why not customize your YouTube videos.  After all, they are the largest part of your channel! Now the question becomes, "How should I customize my YouTube videos?"  Over the past few years, I have found a few tips and tricks that really help customize and increase the effectiveness of your YouTube videos.

First, make sure that you orient yourself with YouTube's easy-to-use customization tools for each of individual video!  Knowing these things will save you lots of time and effort and help you help yourself! So, before I go into any further detail on customizing YouTube videos, take 5 minutes and just play around on the video editor and other various options offered.

Now that you have a little background knowledge, you will find it easier to understand these tips that I am about to share with you...

Putting music on your videos is a great thing to do, especially if you want to improve your audience retention (how long your video holds their attention).  If the video already has music on it, great.  However, usually videos that already have music=are not able to be monetized.  So, a great way to put music on your videos is to go to your video manager. From there, click on "enhancements".  Then, click the "audio" tab and select a soundtrack from the hundreds or thousands of options.

Once you have a few videos already up on your YouTube channel, this tip that I am about to share with you will really help out!  First, under video manager, open up "Annotations" and then click "create new annotation".  Basically, what you want to do is to make links between all of your related videos.  You can check out my post on "YouTube Annotation Tips" for more information on this.

Another great tip for customizing your YouTube videos is to add title and end pages. Under some circumstances, doing this will help, and under other circumstances, it won't do anything.  So try it out and try to figure out which videos would benefit from a title and end page, maybe even some credits thrown in there!

For YouTube Video customization tips, that is about it.  Like I said, be sure to orient yourself with YouTube's easy-to-use tools that will help you customize and make the most of your videos and channel.

I hope this helped!
